It is supported on all iPhone and iPod touch devices. These supported devices include the latest iPhone 5s and 5c, iPad Air, Retina iPad mini and iPod touch 5. This is not the full list, the full list was including in our post on Monday 23rd December. The Evasi0n 7 jailbreak supports iOS 7.0, 7.0.1, 7.0.2, 7.0.3, 7.0.4. In order to jailbreak you will need the latest version of iTunes installed on your Windows PC or Mac. You can download iTunes 11.1.3 from the iTunes store. It is also highly recommended that you Restore to the latest iOS 7.0.4 on your device through iTunes (NOT OTA) before running Evasi0n 7. You also need to make sure that there is no lock screen passcode or Touch ID set on your iOS device and you should backup all your data before jailbreaking. At the bottom of this post we have a video tutorial for jailbreaking iOS 7 using Evasi0n 7 but before we get to that, here is the written instructions on how to do the same. The first thing you have to do is download iOS 7 � 7.0.4 jailbreak Evasion 7 for Windows or Mac. Next you need to connect your iOS device to your computer and start Evasi0n 7. Next click on �Jailbreak� button to start the process. Evasi0n will now perform the jailbreak in a series of automated steps and all you have to do is sit back and wait. It may take a couple of minutes to complete. Once done, Evasi0n will inform you that you need to unlock your device and tap the new Evasion 7 app icon which can be found on the home screen. Tap the app icon and keep your device connected, it will automatically restart. Once the reboot is complete, Evasi0n will continue to apply final touches before asking you to unlock your device again. Once you unlock it, it will reboot again, followed by a �Done� screen. Cydia should now be on your device's home screen. Quit the Evasion 7 app, disconnect your device from your computer and start Cydia. That's it your iOS 7 device is now jailbroken. We have been tracking the progress of the upcoming untethered jailbreak over the last few weeks and we are delighted to report that the people behind this project have released a video demonstrating this untethered jailbreak in action. This jailbreak is still a little buggy but progress is being made and iH8sn0w has also shed some additional light on the iOS, 6.1.3/6.1.4 A5+ jailbreak status. On his blog, iH8sn0w confirms that Apple has now officially closed the ability for users to downgrade back to iOS 6.1.x from iOS 7. The good news is that it has been confirmed that everything that is required for the iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 untethered jailbreak on A5+ devices is in place. The problem being faced at the moment is fixing internal bugs that simply cannot be shipped with a public jailbreak. This was confirmed by Winocm who is apparently the main person behind this jailbreak. The current issues facing the team involve native apps on the device managing to delete themselves as well as problems surrounding the activation of iMessage and FaceTime. That's great news for those running iOS 6.1.4 or 6.1.3 but what about iOS 7? Well we know that the Evad3rs team is currently exploring iOS 7 exploits and we also know that Cydia, MobileSubstrate and WinterBoard are all broken on the latest firmware so a jailbreak is a good bit off yet. Attention is also being paid to the latest version of iTunes which was released with iOS 7. It seems that iTunes 11.1 completely kills custom firmware restores on iOS 7 for A4 and below devices. IH8sn0w is currently working on a fix that can be implemented into future versions of Sn0wbreeze and iFaith. We should also mention, that if you are currently using a jailbreak on iOS 6 and you want to keep your untethered jailbreak, you should refrain from updating to iOS 7 when Apple releases it later this week. Despite progress being made on the the jailbreak for iOS 7, there is no ETA on its release and everyone is advised to wait for more confirmation before updating their software. It seems that iOS 6.1.4 has been jailbroken by Winocm which is again great news for those who lost their jailbreak by updating their firmware. If you are running a jailbroken iOS device and you want to keep it intact, or you are running iOS 6.1.4 and in need of a jailbreak, do not upgrade to iOS 7 until you receive further confirmation from either Evad3rs or Winocm. OpenJailbreak.org has been created by prolific jailbreak creator Joshua Hill or P0sixninja. He has been responsible for plenty of jailbreaks over the years and he trying to make the jailbreak community into something more cohesive than ever before. Joshua spoke at teh WWJC event and explained that he believes there are five different types of jailbreak users; average users, fanboys, developers, security researchers and jailbreak creators. OpenJailbreak.org is aimed at the last three as well as anyone who want to learn more about how jailbreaks are created from the ground up. The aim of this website is to have one centra space where all jailbreak development can have a home. This will make it easier for everyone concerned to manage the code required to make the jailbreak happen. In the long term, Joshua hopes that the site, as well as offshoot projects, will be able to keep jailbreaking sustainable for many years to come. OpenJailbreak.org is not a jailbreak. At the moment, jailbreak developers are often spread around the world and are left to make their own way, creating the jailbreaking exploits that we all use to hack our iOS device. These developers do often band together to form groups but it is not as organized as it could be. OpenJailbreak aims to make collaboration easier by offering a central repository for jailbreaking code that is open to everyone. The ultimate aim of the website is to help make an iOS 7 jailbreak available as soon as possible. Apple's latest version of their OS is only a matter of weeks away and as soon as it is released, there will be calls for a jailbreak.
