This is available for both Windows and Mac users and world on all iPhone, iPad and iPod touch models. There have been some updates since its release and we have compiled them all here in this post. The release of Evasi0n7 took Saurik, the founder of Cydia by surprise but he has since made sure that everything is working fine. We also found out over the past couple of weeks that Evasi0n7 is also compatible and works with iOS 7.1 beta 2. Since the release of this untethered jailbreak for iOS 7, developers have been working on their apps and there are now plenty of iOS 7 compatible jailbreak tweaks and apps available in Cydia. Evasi0n has since been updated a number of times to remove the TaiG App store completely and the update for Evasi0n is also now available on Cydia. Version 1.0.2 of Evasi0n fixed the iPad 2 stuck at boot loop issue. More updated were to follow and Evasi0n 1.0.4 is now out with important security patches related to untether, as well as fixing the reboot loop issue that was affecting the Retina iPad mini. Apple have also released iOS 7.1 beta 3 and we are delighted to be able to report that the exploits used in Evasi0n7 still work on the latest beta of iOS 7.1. An unofficial version of Evasi0n7 is now available that allows users to jailbreak iOS 7.1 beta 3 untethered on all devices. This brings us to version 1.0.4 which includes an important security fix related to the untether which was first reported by Winocm, as well as a proper fix for boot loop issues on the Retina iPad mini. The official changelog for version 1.0.4 states that Evasi0n7 was updated to 1.0.4 with important untether security fixes and no more iPad mini Retina JB issues. Existing jailbreak users will receive the Evasion7 1.0.4 untether security update through Cydia. This means tha tif you have already jailbroken on iOS 7.x all you have to do is update via Cydia. You don't have to restore/re-jailbreak using the Windows of Mac OS X tool. Earlier today, Saurik released a minor update to Cydia Substrate, and a major update to WinterBoard with full compatibility for iOS 7 and ARM64 devices like the iPhone 5s, iPad Air and Retina iPad mini. The updated version of Evasi0n7 is now live on Cydia and all you have to do is hit the Changes tab in Cydia and tap on Upgrade to get the latest version. We are still a good bit away from an untethered jailbreak but it is good to get a sneak preview of what is going on. We know that MuscleNerd recently re-assured existing iOS 7.x users that it was safe to update to iOS 7.0.2. At least we know that work is being done to make this jailbreak a reality. Cydia for iOS 7 doesn't look as smooth as what we would expect, but it is enough just to see it running on iOS 7. iOS developer Cjori has been working really hard trying to tap into the latest firmware. He told us that he used OpenSn0w to tether-jailbreak iOS 7 on an iPhone 4. Cydia was recompiled from source with the iOS 7 SDK and he manually debugged all of the issues encountered using various UNIX tools. When he was asked if he would be releasing this iOS 7 compatible Cydia along with instructions on how to tether-jailbreak iOS 7, he said that while Cydia itself seems to be stable, a lot of the things revolving around it and the jailbreak in general were very unstable, so he doesn't plan on releasing it at this point, but he might do so in the future once things are fixed. The images that are doing the rounds serve as nothing more than a teaser at this point and we could have to wait a couple of months before a jailbreak will materialize. We could well see some significant progress from other teams involved too such as Evad3rs before the end of the year. We are very happy to see progress being made and as soon as any further information is released we will be sure to let you know.
