There is a new website that has opened to the public that aims to make the collaboration of jailbreak creators an easier process. OpenJailbreak.org has been created by prolific jailbreak creator Joshua Hill or P0sixninja. He has been responsible for plenty of jailbreaks over the years and he trying to make the jailbreak community into something more cohesive than ever before. Joshua spoke at teh WWJC event and explained that he believes there are five different types of jailbreak users; average users, fanboys, developers, security researchers and jailbreak creators. OpenJailbreak.org is aimed at the last three as well as anyone who want to learn more about how jailbreaks are created from the ground up. The aim of this website is to have one centra space where all jailbreak development can have a home. This will make it easier for everyone concerned to manage the code required to make the jailbreak happen. In the long term, Joshua hopes that the site, as well as offshoot projects, will be able to keep jailbreaking sustainable for many years to come. OpenJailbreak.org is not a jailbreak. At the moment, jailbreak developers are often spread around the world and are left to make their own way, creating the jailbreaking exploits that we all use to hack our iOS device. These developers do often band together to form groups but it is not as organized as it could be. OpenJailbreak aims to make collaboration easier by offering a central repository for jailbreaking code that is open to everyone. The ultimate aim of the website is to help make an iOS 7 jailbreak available as soon as possible. Apple's latest version of their OS is only a matter of weeks away and as soon as it is released, there will be calls for a jailbreak. Screenshots have already emerged of what appears to be a jailbreak injected onto an iOS 7 powered device but as we all know, that does't necessarily mean anything at the moment. This new firmware release meant it was back to square one for those purchasing new devices. Anybody who is running iOS 6.1.2 or earlier can jailbreak their device but not on iOS 6.1.3. There is no untethered jailbreak just yet for the new firmware but we have seen plenty of encouraging signs for future firmware releases. Devices on A4 or earlier firmware can still enjoy a tethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 using Redsn0w as these devices are still susceptible to the Limera1n exploit and always will be. The first hope of an untethered jailbreak similar to Evasi0n for iOS 6.1.3 was found by ex-Chronic Dev Team member P0sixninja and while his findings and those of Evad3rs member Pod2g have been encouraging, both have stated that they will probably save what they have discovered for a more significant firmware version such as iOS 7. This was confirmed on both their Twitter accounts earlier today. While this news may be somewhat disheartening to those stuck on iOS 6.1.3, the Evasi0n jailbreak did afford everyone ample time to sort their devices out on iOS 6 and apply the untethered jailbreak while they could. The takeaway news here is that those who are on iOS 6.1.3 are very unlikely to see an untethered jailbreak and the next major release expected is to be iOS 7 which should be released sometime between July and September. If you are waiting on an untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 then you might just have to wait for iOS 7 first.

Joshua Hill or P0sixninja as he is better known has been very quiet since his departure from the Chronic Dev Team but it looks like he could be about to propel himself back into the limelight. He has claimed that he has all the necessary exploits needed for the production of a new jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3. He made the claims via his Twitter account and this has always been his platform choice when it comes to making any jailbreak based announcements. The Evad3rs team have been getting all of the attention but that could be about to change. On his twitter account @p0sixninja said, �Evad3rs haven't gone anywhere, I've just discovered all the needed exploits on my own over the past few months.� He also went on to say, �well, so far it looks like the next jailbreak might be created entirely by me.� If these Twitter claims do prove to be accurate then it looks like those die hard jailbreak fans who have been holding off on upgrading their devices to the latest firmware might not need to wait for much longer. Although P0sixninja hasn't confirmed whether he will release a jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 or wait till a major version of iOS 7 is released later this year, it still is great news for the jailbreak community. There is no information available and P0sixninja doesn't claim to have a working jailbreak at the moment either. Still, it is great news to know that work is ongoing behind the scenes and that a jailbreak might be made available very soon.
