The number has actually surpassed 4 million, putting this release on track to be the biggest launch in the company's 38 year history. The decision to move to two larger-screen devices appears to be a stroke of genius by Apple as consumers from ten territories ensured that the initial stock was completely depleted. Two years ago when Apple launched the iPhone 5, there were 2 million pre-orders in the first 24 hour. This was the first iPhone model to move away from the standard 3.5 inch display across to a 4 inch offering. Last year when we had two models to choose from, the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c, 9 million units were sold during hte first weekend of actual availability in digital and brick and mortar stores. Yesterday's announcement of 4 million units sold as part of a pre-order offer puts Apple on track to completely obliterate those numbers. Judging by initial stock level updates when pre-orders went live, it looks like the jumbo-size iPhone 6 Plus model is proving to be the most popular. This is potentially down to a large number of Android users decided to take advantage of the power of iOS 8 on a larger screen device. This theory has also been backed up by announcements from buyback services relating to a huge increase in Samsung devices being traded in after the Apple announcement. To coincide with the initial success of the iPhone 6, it is being reported that Apple has already instructed a number of manufacturing partners to ramp up their production schedule by 30 to 40% on last year's initial run of the two available iPhone models. Apple also announced via an official press release that the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus will be available in an additional 20 countries on Friday, 26th September. Tim Cook has also described the iPhone 6 models as being better in every way and he is thrilled that customers love them as much as he does. This is being billed as one of the biggest announcements in Apple's history and we know there is a lot to look forward to today. Below is a look at what is in store. 4.7-inch iPhone 6 The iPhone 6 is one of the most eagerly anticipated releases from Apple since the very first iPhone hit our stores back in 2007. The new iPhone 6 has been given a design overhaul similar to the iPad Air, and will also feature the A8 processor, improved camera and Touch ID and of course, a larger display. All the iPhone 6 leaks and reports we have featured over the last couple of months also suggest a repositioned power button and a new offering in the 128GB storage configuration. It is anticipated that the color options will remain the same and the front of the display is expected to be laden in sapphire glass, a clearer, more robust material that should hopefully reduce the probability of scratches. The device itself is expected to measure just 7mm thick. We will also see improvements to other hardware as well as NFC which will be used to allow mobile payments. 5.5-inch iPhone Plus / iPhone 6L Along with the 4.7 inch iPhone 6, we are also going to see the launch of the 5.5 option which is being called the iPhone Plus. Anyone who has wanted Apple to compete with the likes of Samsung's Galaxy Note is going to be delighted with this model. This 5.5 inch iPhone 6L/Plus is going to offer stronger internal features when compared with the 4.7 model and this will include a larger battery and a possibly better processor. It will also have an iPad like landscape mode. Aside from this, the larger iPhone 6 should be more or less the same in terms of colors, major features and general performance. IOS 8 iOS 8 was first announced back at WWDC, and offers a bunch of new features. As well as HealthKit and HomeKit, third party keyboards will allow users to customize the typing experience. It is expected that Apple will announce the GM build for developers tomorrow with a public release in a week's time. iWatch Apple's iWatch will most certainly be packed with a myriad of sensors as it integrates with the new HealthKit infrastructure, and from what we have heard, will also be coated in sapphire glass. Reports have suggested that it will be a squarish device with rounded corners, and will arrive in 1.3 inch and 1.5 inch size options to suit the styles of men and women. Reports have also suggested that there will be 8GB of storage and 512MB of RAM. It isn't due to hit the market until next year though so we will have to wait for that. These will include the smartwatch and the iPhone 6. We have been receiving a great deal of information on the iPhone 6 but when it comes to the iWatch the details have been pretty scarce. The main reason for this is that the iWatch has apparently gone into production yet. Still, the official announcement is only days away and small bits of information do seem to be trickling through. Ming Chi Kuo revealed earlier that the iWatch may include 8GB of storage and 512MB RAM. The latest report we have seen comes from The New York Times and it implies that the iWatch/iBand will feature a flexible display, and although this isn't the first time that we have heard this, the fact that it is coming from The New York Times just days before the Keynote speech does make us think it is the real deal. Allowing the device to have a curved display would mean that it would fit more comfortably on your wrist, and with numerous reports touting two separate configurations to suit both men and women, it is clear that Apple won't be straying too far from its ethos of delivering fashionable products. Despite keeping the iWatch fashionable, Apple also plans to grab a piece of the fitness and health market and HealthKit will be at the heart of the iWatch's functionality. It is expected that the flexible panel will be protected by sapphire glass, a material that has popped up as nauseam over the last few months and that is strongly suspected to be covering at least some of the iPhone 6 as well. The New York Times has also suggested that the upcoming iPhone 6 will feature a �one-handed mode�, which will allow users to complete tasks and actions while holding the device with one hand. It won't be compulsory, but given that some users will no doubt struggle with basic tasks over a 4.7 or 5.5 inch screen, it is good to see that Apple has taken the time to refine some of the functionality. So with both the iWatch and the iPhone 6 only days away from their official announcement we really are beginning to get excited. The fact that we have received official confirmation of the iPhone 6 event will however place renewed emphasis on what has already been said. For example, it has been suggested that the next generation iPhone will cost more than the current iPhone 5s and with carriers now coming through with figures for the retain run for the iPhone 6, we can see just how much this new device is going to cost. A report over at MovilZona, has revealed that Telefonica has let it slip that the new 4.7 inch iPhone 6 is going to sell for �750, while the 5.5 inch model will start at a whopping �950. This is quite an investment for anyone to make even with the increase in real estate, bumped processor and all the other features, especially when you take into consideration that the base level iPhone 5s is priced at $649 in the US. According to these figures, it looks like the new iPhone 6 is going to be a very expensive purchase indeed. An analyst has suggested that the lower end variant of the iPhone 6 will include a Gorilla Glass panel as opposed to the sapphire glass we've heard about continually, but we don't know which version Telefonica's numbers relate to. Given that Telefonica is still in discussion with Apple, there are no guarantees associated with this report, but for those hoping to get their hands on the new iPhone 6 for the same price as the current iPhone 5s, it really is a bit of a downer. As well as bringing out two new smartphones, Apple will apparently roll out its first major wearable in the form of the iWatch, although like the 5.5 inch iPhone 6, general availability is not anticipated until October at the earliest. The fact that Apple have decided to host the keynote at the larger-capacity Flint Center for the Performing Arts as opposed to the Yerba Buena suggests that this will be an event to remember. It all takes place on the 9th of September and we can't wait to report on the outcome.

The latest leak is a new sketch that apparently details a protruding rear-facing camera component. We all know that Apple are renowned for smooth design, so while reports that the iPhone 6's camera would stick out have been incessant, many people have brushed them off. As with any rumor, though, if they stay around for long enough people start to believe them. There is no telling whether this leaked schematic drawing is legitimate or not, and in it, the camera part of the device clearly poking out can be seen. As we have seen with every iOS device that Apple has released to date, the shooter has sat flush, and this leaves a smooth feeling when holding the device, and it looks better too. We personally can't imagine Apple changing this and this new schematic suggests that the 4.7 inch model and the 5.5 inch variant will have a stick out camera lens. Like most of the iPhone 6 related information that is hitting the web right now, this new information hails from Apple.club.tw, and shows a schematic of the 4.7 inch iPhone sporting this protruding camera ring. The 4.7 inch iPhone 6 is expected to be announced along with the larger 5.5 inch model which could be called the iPhone 6L. We still have no official proof of any of this and only time will tell what exactly will be announced by Apple. According to Re/code's John Paczkowski, the iPhone 6 will be announced at a special event on the 9th of September, and if this is the case, we should see invitations going out shortly. At this launch we should see the 4.7 inch and the 5.5 inch variants of the new iPhone 6 being unveiled, although the larger model is not expected to hit the retail market for several weeks after. Yes we're talking about the highly anticipated iPhone 6. We have suspected that we would see a release date being announced in September and it looks like we might now have a real date too. There has been so much speculation about the release date with many sources claiming it would be the 19th or the 26th of September. Now a reliable source has suggested that an event will actually be held on the 9th of September. This new information comes from Re/code's John Paczkowski and although the date can't be confirmed, it does make sense given the past releases. After the iPhone 5s's percievably rudimentary upgrade, Apple is expected to really up the ante this time around, with a redesigned handset borrowing much of its design traits from the iPad Air and iPod touch. Apple is also said to finally increase the amount of display real estate available, with a 4.7 inch model also said to be accompanied by a 5.5 inch �phablet� model. Inside the iPhone 6, we are anticipating an enhanced, Apple A8 processor, improved camera, and if some reports are to be believed, Apple may also indulge in NFC. Apple have stood by and watched as Android vendors planted NFC into their smartphones as a matter of standard procedure. Having remained cautious, it looks like this might finally be bundled into the iPhone 6. From the information we have gathered, the larger iPhone 6 may be subject to delay and although Paczkowski seems well informed of the September 9th announcement, it remains to be seen whether or not the larger of these devices will also be unveiled. Considering earlier reports, we might see both being showcased on the day with the official release of the 4.7 inch model coming just a week or two after the event. At this stage though it is still merely speculation as we wait for an official announcement from Apple themselves. There is just one month to go before we finally get to see what the next generation iPhone is going to look like and after seeing so many mock-ups and leaked images, we really can't wait to see what the official iPhone 6 is going to look like. We are received reports and rumors on a daily basis and right now we know that we are expecting some significant size increases and a redesign. Smartphone fans are getting ready for what looks to be a very much anticipated launch and we can reveal that this handset should arrive in late September, just as it does every year. The Chinese site, Tencent, has revealed that the 4.7 inch model will be released on Friday, September 19th. This is the same date that was suggested back in May by Deutsche Telekom, and it ties in nicely with the previous reports we have received. Given that the iPhone almost always retails on a Friday and in September, this report seems to be right, but as yet, Apple have not released an official statement. As well as the release date, the Chinese site also reports that Apple will launch the iPhone 6 in 32GB and 64GB variants and we have also heard that there could be a 124GB device too. This suggests that the omni-present 16-gig configuration may be scrapped. The report does suggest however that the 32BG iPhone 6 will cost the same price as the 16GB iPhone 5s and that the 32GB version will retail for around $846. The 64GB model could see a price tag of $1008. The iPhone 6 is also expected to come in a larger variant boasting a 5.5 inch display, although this device has apparently been subject to delays, so now release date has been set. It will apparently cost an additional $100 over its smaller counterpart and this model may also include one or two perks aside from the increase in real estate including optical image stabilization. We could see this model arrive in October. It is strongly suspected that both of these iPhone 6 devices will be announced at the same September event which could also include some big revelations including iPad refreshes, upgraded Mac hardware and the iWatch.

Most of the rumors and leaks that we have seen over the past couple of months have all suggested that Apple will be including a larger, more rounded form factor with this new device. While we have seen plenty of iPhone 6, what we haven't yet see is a comparison with the current device and so to offer a sense of perspective, this latest leak and video will show a head-to-head comparison of the old versus what we expect that new to be. This leak comes courtesy of Italian blog Macitynet, and as you will see from the video included in this post, the iPhone 6 is both noticeably thinner and significantly wider than its would-be predecessor. The general consensus remains that Apple will introduce two new iPhone of almost identical design, except one will be larger than the other. A variant with the 4.7 inch display is expected to be released first, with a delayed 5.5 inch edition making its way to the market at a later date while production issues pertaining to a new, thinner battery are addressed. The iPhone's design really hasn't changed much since the iPhone 4 was released in 2010 and even though the increase in size may have forced the alterations we're seeing with the mockups, it is also clear to see that Apple's ethos of uniformity is being revisited. That is why we have created this post as a complete run down of everything we know so far about the upcoming iPhone 6. There are still approximately 5 months left to go before its release and any of the information we have received so far could be inaccurate and subject to change. Below is a run down of what know. The features and specs mainly revolve around the size of the display and according to reports Apple is once again preparing two iPhone 6 models for release later this year. Both are thought to be larger than any iPhone we have seen so far and we are expecting a 4.7 inch model and a 5.5 inch mode. It is also rumored that the iPhone 6 will have a bezel free display. We have also heard that this new iPhone will feature a full 1080p display. Rumors also suggest that the power button will be relocated to the edge of the handset alongside the redesigned volume buttons. In case leaks, we have seen that the rear side of the iPhone will take on a iPad Air-esque design whilst the front will boast and edge-to-edge display, allowing the screen to increase in size without leaving the device itself feeling too large. Leaks have also suggested that the battery size will increase. The leaked front panel that we have seen also suggests that the front of the device will be very much like the iPhone 5s, except that it will have a proportionately larger display of 4.7 inches. The camera is also set to receive improvements and according to the most recently leaked information, the rear-facing iPhone 6 camera will be 10 megapixels. The Touch ID fingerprint sensor is also going to see some improvements with better �efficiency� being mentioned in several reports. We have also seen reports that suggest that the iPhone 6 will have sapphire glass display. Analyst Timothy Arcuri reckons that the iPhone 6 will pack Gigabit Wi-Fi standard, which would make hotspot connectivity faster and more efficient. Other features will include iWatch integration, a heart rate sensor and of course iOS 8. We expect the iPhone 6 4.7 inch model to announced in September and it has been rumored that the price will increase by approximately $100. Following on from a recent influx of schematics leaks and other information relating to the iPhone 6's form factor, a new mock up of an iPhone case looks to be proving all these theories right. Now we know that leaks aren't always an ideal way of gauging an unannounced, unconfirmed device and case leaks, which can easily be faked, are perhaps even less reliable. Today's leak is a mere graphic depicting a case, and while it does seem to corroborate several rumors, we still don't have 100% confirmation on just how accurate a representation it is of the iPhone 6. Chinese iPhone case make Elam Enterprises is the company that is behind this particular mock up and you can view the images at NoWhereElse.fr. These images show that Apple will depart from the 4 inch Retina display first introduced with the iPhone 5 and that the power button may also change its location. KGI securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested that the power/sleep button could finally be relocated from its regular spot atop the device because the larger display would make it more difficult to reach it. The image also gives us a glimpse at the thinner overall design, and with reports indicating that the iPhone 6 will borrow many of its aesthetics from the iPad Air, you will see it clearly in this image. The iPhone 6 looks set to offer a 4.7 inch display, with a larger model boasting a 5.5 inch panel. It has been suggested though that the larger model will be delayed due to production issues. The iPhone 6 is due for release in September and we are also expecting an iWatch device to arrive then too. According to Abhey Lamba, Mizuho Security's analyst, the highly anticipated iPhone 6 could hit our stores as early as July of this year. The beats the normal release date of September. We really don't know much about what the iPhone 6 will bring, but Lamba's sources in the supply chain have led the analyst to believe that a range of screen sizes from 4.7 inches to 5.5 inches could be on the cards. This seems highly unlikely as Apple always seems to stick to its tried and tested approach of offering a one-size-fits-all handset. Besides the question of screen sizes, it is also now suggested that Touch ID will get a boost by being able to interact with more apps as well as making the jump from the iPhone to the iPad this year. According to Street Insider, this analyst is basing his claims on information from the Asian and Japanese supply chains, which can be either very accurate or completely inaccurate so we will have to wait and see. If, as the report suggests, the iPhone 6 really is going to be released earlier than expected, we would expect to see a lot more information leaks coming out in the next couple of weeks and months but we aren't holding our breath on this as Apple very rarely break their release schedule. So far we have seen some leaked photos of what is claimed to be the outer shell of the iPhone 6 and based on those leaks, it is safe to say that we will see an iPhone with a larger display, but then again, this leak's legitimacy can't be traced so as always with all the rumors that appear we really do have to wait and see what Apple is really planning. Rumors have come for a Far East based website who have gone into a lot of detail about Apple's current plans and testing schedule for next year's model. It has become fairly normal for people to speculate on the next launch as soon as the current generation device has been launched. The website in question has an inconsistent success rate when it comes to predictions about Apple products, but the published rumors do seem to tie in nicely with previously published commentary from KGI Securities. To be honest, we really don't know anything about the next generation iPhone that is set to be released. We are assuming it will be under the name iPhone 6 but Apple has a great track record of keeping internal projects and secrets away from the public eye. With that said, both Ming-Chi Kuo and the recent C Technology article both seem to agree that next year's iPhone will feature a larger touch-screen, potentially up to 5 inches. Kuo believes that any future iPhone will never breach the 5 inch display mark purely because of Apple's insistence that the device remains usable in one hand. Most of the rumors going forward are likely to be centered around the display of the new device and whether or not Apple will follow the current market trend of producing smartphones with huge displays or stick to their current 4 inch offering. In addition to today's rumors, we also heard suggestions that Apple could be about to jump on the curved bandwagon by creating an iPhone with glass that wraps around the body of the device. You can be sure that rumors will continue to fly right the way through to the launch of next year's device and whether Apple choose to follow their competitors and create a larger display really is anyone's guess. Over past couple of weeks we have seen a number of concepts for the new iPhone and iOS 7 which will be released at WWDC 2013 starting the 10th June. Today's concept comes from Ran Avni. His concept shows just what he thinks the iPhone 6 could look like when a little bit of 3D imagery gets thrown in. There have been phones that can take 3D images but they have never really captured our imagination. The design that Avni has come up with borrows heavily from HTC's design department by incorporating a pair of white borders that sit beside the device's large screen. Another feature of this concept is the inclusion of an edge to edge screen whic his something that makes the 4.8 inch screen look bigger whilst not making the handset seem too big. The device also seems to get thinner towards the middle, making the screen concave. You can see this in the image for this post and whilst some may not like it, it will fit the head better when making called. Other features to find their way into this iPhone 6 concept include a FaceTime HD camera to go with the 8 megapixel 3D camera and an all new body design that makes everything we have talked about in this post possible. Today, however we have come across some high qualithy images of what we are being told are components of the next generation Apple iPhone. These images really don't tell us too much because they are of hardware components but it is still nice to get a clearer view of the parts. They don't appear to be much different from the components that were used in the iPhone 5 and we would like to think that Apple has some relatively sizeable alterations in mind for this upcoming handset. Recent reports have suggested that the next Apple iPhone is going to be called the iPhone 6 and we have already seen the Vodafone UK's internal inventory system was leaked displaying this. Whether this is to be the case of not remains to be seen but one thing is for sure, whatever name Apple decides to go for, the outcome of the device will be identical. All the fuss surrounding the new iOS 7 has taken attention away from the next generation iPhone which is reportedly going to be released in September which is a year after the iPhone 5 was released. It is also expected that Apple will also launch a budget iPhone to help them compete with those markets too but this is a rumor that has been going for quite some time now and so far we haven't seen any evidence of it.
