Yes we're talking about the highly anticipated iPhone 6. We have suspected that we would see a release date being announced in September and it looks like we might now have a real date too. There has been so much speculation about the release date with many sources claiming it would be the 19th or the 26th of September. Now a reliable source has suggested that an event will actually be held on the 9th of September. This new information comes from Re/code's John Paczkowski and although the date can't be confirmed, it does make sense given the past releases. After the iPhone 5s's percievably rudimentary upgrade, Apple is expected to really up the ante this time around, with a redesigned handset borrowing much of its design traits from the iPad Air and iPod touch. Apple is also said to finally increase the amount of display real estate available, with a 4.7 inch model also said to be accompanied by a 5.5 inch �phablet� model. Inside the iPhone 6, we are anticipating an enhanced, Apple A8 processor, improved camera, and if some reports are to be believed, Apple may also indulge in NFC. Apple have stood by and watched as Android vendors planted NFC into their smartphones as a matter of standard procedure. Having remained cautious, it looks like this might finally be bundled into the iPhone 6. From the information we have gathered, the larger iPhone 6 may be subject to delay and although Paczkowski seems well informed of the September 9th announcement, it remains to be seen whether or not the larger of these devices will also be unveiled. Considering earlier reports, we might see both being showcased on the day with the official release of the 4.7 inch model coming just a week or two after the event. At this stage though it is still merely speculation as we wait for an official announcement from Apple themselves. There is just one month to go before we finally get to see what the next generation iPhone is going to look like and after seeing so many mock-ups and leaked images, we really can't wait to see what the official iPhone 6 is going to look like. We are received reports and rumors on a daily basis and right now we know that we are expecting some significant size increases and a redesign. Smartphone fans are getting ready for what looks to be a very much anticipated launch and we can reveal that this handset should arrive in late September, just as it does every year. The Chinese site, Tencent, has revealed that the 4.7 inch model will be released on Friday, September 19th. This is the same date that was suggested back in May by Deutsche Telekom, and it ties in nicely with the previous reports we have received. Given that the iPhone almost always retails on a Friday and in September, this report seems to be right, but as yet, Apple have not released an official statement. As well as the release date, the Chinese site also reports that Apple will launch the iPhone 6 in 32GB and 64GB variants and we have also heard that there could be a 124GB device too. This suggests that the omni-present 16-gig configuration may be scrapped. The report does suggest however that the 32BG iPhone 6 will cost the same price as the 16GB iPhone 5s and that the 32GB version will retail for around $846. The 64GB model could see a price tag of $1008. The iPhone 6 is also expected to come in a larger variant boasting a 5.5 inch display, although this device has apparently been subject to delays, so now release date has been set. It will apparently cost an additional $100 over its smaller counterpart and this model may also include one or two perks aside from the increase in real estate including optical image stabilization. We could see this model arrive in October. It is strongly suspected that both of these iPhone 6 devices will be announced at the same September event which could also include some big revelations including iPad refreshes, upgraded Mac hardware and the iWatch.

Most of the rumors and leaks that we have seen over the past couple of months have all suggested that Apple will be including a larger, more rounded form factor with this new device. While we have seen plenty of iPhone 6, what we haven't yet see is a comparison with the current device and so to offer a sense of perspective, this latest leak and video will show a head-to-head comparison of the old versus what we expect that new to be. This leak comes courtesy of Italian blog Macitynet, and as you will see from the video included in this post, the iPhone 6 is both noticeably thinner and significantly wider than its would-be predecessor. The general consensus remains that Apple will introduce two new iPhone of almost identical design, except one will be larger than the other. A variant with the 4.7 inch display is expected to be released first, with a delayed 5.5 inch edition making its way to the market at a later date while production issues pertaining to a new, thinner battery are addressed. The iPhone's design really hasn't changed much since the iPhone 4 was released in 2010 and even though the increase in size may have forced the alterations we're seeing with the mockups, it is also clear to see that Apple's ethos of uniformity is being revisited. The iPod touch and iPad range both offer this sleek, curved finish, and with the iPhone 6 apparently in line to follow suit, the entire iOS device line-up will appear to be cut from the same cloth. Besides from the physical attributes, the iPhone 6 is expected to pack a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, an Apple A8 processor and impressive camera tech. Recent reports have suggested that Electronic Image Stabilization will offer superior shooting capabilities and with some analysts also highlighting that this device may prompt Android users to jump to iOS en masse thanks to its larger size, we could be on the cusp of another game changer from Apple. The features and specs mainly revolve around the size of the display and according to reports Apple is once again preparing two iPhone 6 models for release later this year. Both are thought to be larger than any iPhone we have seen so far and we are expecting a 4.7 inch model and a 5.5 inch mode. It is also rumored that the iPhone 6 will have a bezel free display. We have also heard that this new iPhone will feature a full 1080p display. Rumors also suggest that the power button will be relocated to the edge of the handset alongside the redesigned volume buttons. In case leaks, we have seen that the rear side of the iPhone will take on a iPad Air-esque design whilst the front will boast and edge-to-edge display, allowing the screen to increase in size without leaving the device itself feeling too large. Leaks have also suggested that the battery size will increase. The leaked front panel that we have seen also suggests that the front of the device will be very much like the iPhone 5s, except that it will have a proportionately larger display of 4.7 inches. The camera is also set to receive improvements and according to the most recently leaked information, the rear-facing iPhone 6 camera will be 10 megapixels. The Touch ID fingerprint sensor is also going to see some improvements with better �efficiency� being mentioned in several reports. We have also seen reports that suggest that the iPhone 6 will have sapphire glass display. Analyst Timothy Arcuri reckons that the iPhone 6 will pack Gigabit Wi-Fi standard, which would make hotspot connectivity faster and more efficient. Other features will include iWatch integration, a heart rate sensor and of course iOS 8. We expect the iPhone 6 4.7 inch model to announced in September and it has been rumored that the price will increase by approximately $100. Following on from a recent influx of schematics leaks and other information relating to the iPhone 6's form factor, a new mock up of an iPhone case looks to be proving all these theories right. Now we know that leaks aren't always an ideal way of gauging an unannounced, unconfirmed device and case leaks, which can easily be faked, are perhaps even less reliable. Today's leak is a mere graphic depicting a case, and while it does seem to corroborate several rumors, we still don't have 100% confirmation on just how accurate a representation it is of the iPhone 6. These images show that Apple will depart from the 4 inch Retina display first introduced with the iPhone 5 and that the power button may also change its location. KGI securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested that the power/sleep button could finally be relocated from its regular spot atop the device because the larger display would make it more difficult to reach it. The image also gives us a glimpse at the thinner overall design, and with reports indicating that the iPhone 6 will borrow many of its aesthetics from the iPad Air, you will see it clearly in this image. The iPhone 6 looks set to offer a 4.7 inch display, with a larger model boasting a 5.5 inch panel. It has been suggested though that the larger model will be delayed due to production issues. The iPhone 6 is due for release in September and we are also expecting an iWatch device to arrive then too. According to Abhey Lamba, Mizuho Security's analyst, the highly anticipated iPhone 6 could hit our stores as early as July of this year. The beats the normal release date of September. We really don't know much about what the iPhone 6 will bring, but Lamba's sources in the supply chain have led the analyst to believe that a range of screen sizes from 4.7 inches to 5.5 inches could be on the cards. This seems highly unlikely as Apple always seems to stick to its tried and tested approach of offering a one-size-fits-all handset. Besides the question of screen sizes, it is also now suggested that Touch ID will get a boost by being able to interact with more apps as well as making the jump from the iPhone to the iPad this year. According to Street Insider, this analyst is basing his claims on information from the Asian and Japanese supply chains, which can be either very accurate or completely inaccurate so we will have to wait and see. If, as the report suggests, the iPhone 6 really is going to be released earlier than expected, we would expect to see a lot more information leaks coming out in the next couple of weeks and months but we aren't holding our breath on this as Apple very rarely break their release schedule. So far we have seen some leaked photos of what is claimed to be the outer shell of the iPhone 6 and based on those leaks, it is safe to say that we will see an iPhone with a larger display, but then again, this leak's legitimacy can't be traced so as always with all the rumors that appear we really do have to wait and see what Apple is really planning. We are expecting one model of around 4.7 inches and another, similarly equipped handset of around 5.5 inches, and both will, according to reports look very much the same. It has also emerged that Apple may also be opting for a �bezel-free� display, which would not only look great, but maximize the display real-estate without adding too much bulk. This latest rumor comes from the Korea Herald, which says that the iPhone 6 will offer a bezel-free display, otherwise known in the mobile industry as �edge-to-edge�. Unfortunately this article doesn't go into a lot of detail and it only says that Apple is working in an iPhone 6 prototype as an afterthought to a report dominated by talk of the Samsung Galaxy S5. What is mentioned in this article though, is the fact that the iPhone 6 will include a fingerprint sensor, which means that Apple is pleased with the response from iPhone 5S users to keep this feature in future models. There are a lot of reports that have mentioned two different iPhone 6 models and both models are expected to be largely similar if not the same as one another in terms of form factor. The iPad Air and the iPad Mini offer a pretty good analogy as to what may happen when the iphone 6 comes out. Now we are used to hearing rumors about larger displays and the likelihood that we will see at least one handset with a considerably larger display that the iPhone 5s's 4-inch seems even stronger than ever. The Wall Street Journal has jumped on the band wagon suggest that Apple may be planning two new iPhones this year. The suggestion is that one of the devices will have a display in excess of 4.5 inches while the second handset will exceed the 5 inch mark. This idea has already been suggested and it didn't come to fruition. Up until the iPhone 5, Apple has always stuck to their 3.5 inch display and even though they have pushed the boundaries slightly, the current iPhone 5c and 5s seem very small when compared to other smartphones on the markets. If the reports are correct, things look set to change dramatically and while the current line-up sees the iPhone 5s's premium finish contrast the polycarbonate exterior of its counterpart, the report also suggests that the iPhone 5c will be scrapped when the new devices become available. The two new devices are expected to have a higher-end, aluminum treatment as far as the outer shell goes, so while some people may have enjoyed the colorful nature of the iPhone 5c, it would seem that Apple isn't that keen. Those people who don't relish the idea of owning a device with a larger display don't despair, it looks like the iPhone 5s will be staying around.
