Yes we're talking about the highly anticipated iPhone 6. We have suspected that we would see a release date being announced in September and it looks like we might now have a real date too. There has been so much speculation about the release date with many sources claiming it would be the 19th or the 26th of September. Now a reliable source has suggested that an event will actually be held on the 9th of September. This new information comes from Re/code's John Paczkowski and although the date can't be confirmed, it does make sense given the past releases. After the iPhone 5s's percievably rudimentary upgrade, Apple is expected to really up the ante this time around, with a redesigned handset borrowing much of its design traits from the iPad Air and iPod touch. Apple is also said to finally increase the amount of display real estate available, with a 4.7 inch model also said to be accompanied by a 5.5 inch �phablet� model. Inside the iPhone 6, we are anticipating an enhanced, Apple A8 processor, improved camera, and if some reports are to be believed, Apple may also indulge in NFC. Apple have stood by and watched as Android vendors planted NFC into their smartphones as a matter of standard procedure. Having remained cautious, it looks like this might finally be bundled into the iPhone 6. From the information we have gathered, the larger iPhone 6 may be subject to delay and although Paczkowski seems well informed of the September 9th announcement, it remains to be seen whether or not the larger of these devices will also be unveiled. Considering earlier reports, we might see both being showcased on the day with the official release of the 4.7 inch model coming just a week or two after the event. At this stage though it is still merely speculation as we wait for an official announcement from Apple themselves. There is just one month to go before we finally get to see what the next generation iPhone is going to look like and after seeing so many mock-ups and leaked images, we really can't wait to see what the official iPhone 6 is going to look like. Most of the rumors and leaks that we have seen over the past couple of months have all suggested that Apple will be including a larger, more rounded form factor with this new device. While we have seen plenty of iPhone 6, what we haven't yet see is a comparison with the current device and so to offer a sense of perspective, this latest leak and video will show a head-to-head comparison of the old versus what we expect that new to be. This leak comes courtesy of Italian blog Macitynet, and as you will see from the video included in this post, the iPhone 6 is both noticeably thinner and significantly wider than its would-be predecessor. The general consensus remains that Apple will introduce two new iPhone of almost identical design, except one will be larger than the other. A variant with the 4.7 inch display is expected to be released first, with a delayed 5.5 inch edition making its way to the market at a later date while production issues pertaining to a new, thinner battery are addressed. The iPhone's design really hasn't changed much since the iPhone 4 was released in 2010 and even though the increase in size may have forced the alterations we're seeing with the mockups, it is also clear to see that Apple's ethos of uniformity is being revisited. The iPod touch and iPad range both offer this sleek, curved finish, and with the iPhone 6 apparently in line to follow suit, the entire iOS device line-up will appear to be cut from the same cloth. Besides from the physical attributes, the iPhone 6 is expected to pack a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, an Apple A8 processor and impressive camera tech. Recent reports have suggested that Electronic Image Stabilization will offer superior shooting capabilities and with some analysts also highlighting that this device may prompt Android users to jump to iOS en masse thanks to its larger size, we could be on the cusp of another game changer from Apple. That is why we have created this post as a complete run down of everything we know so far about the upcoming iPhone 6. There are still approximately 5 months left to go before its release and any of the information we have received so far could be inaccurate and subject to change. Below is a run down of what know. The features and specs mainly revolve around the size of the display and according to reports Apple is once again preparing two iPhone 6 models for release later this year. Both are thought to be larger than any iPhone we have seen so far and we are expecting a 4.7 inch model and a 5.5 inch mode. It is also rumored that the iPhone 6 will have a bezel free display. We have also heard that this new iPhone will feature a full 1080p display. Rumors also suggest that the power button will be relocated to the edge of the handset alongside the redesigned volume buttons. In case leaks, we have seen that the rear side of the iPhone will take on a iPad Air-esque design whilst the front will boast and edge-to-edge display, allowing the screen to increase in size without leaving the device itself feeling too large. Leaks have also suggested that the battery size will increase. The leaked front panel that we have seen also suggests that the front of the device will be very much like the iPhone 5s, except that it will have a proportionately larger display of 4.7 inches. The camera is also set to receive improvements and according to the most recently leaked information, the rear-facing iPhone 6 camera will be 10 megapixels. The Touch ID fingerprint sensor is also going to see some improvements with better �efficiency� being mentioned in several reports. We have also seen reports that suggest that the iPhone 6 will have sapphire glass display. Analyst Timothy Arcuri reckons that the iPhone 6 will pack Gigabit Wi-Fi standard, which would make hotspot connectivity faster and more efficient. Other features will include iWatch integration, a heart rate sensor and of course iOS 8. We expect the iPhone 6 4.7 inch model to announced in September and it has been rumored that the price will increase by approximately $100. We are expecting one model of around 4.7 inches and another, similarly equipped handset of around 5.5 inches, and both will, according to reports look very much the same. It has also emerged that Apple may also be opting for a �bezel-free� display, which would not only look great, but maximize the display real-estate without adding too much bulk. This latest rumor comes from the Korea Herald, which says that the iPhone 6 will offer a bezel-free display, otherwise known in the mobile industry as �edge-to-edge�. Unfortunately this article doesn't go into a lot of detail and it only says that Apple is working in an iPhone 6 prototype as an afterthought to a report dominated by talk of the Samsung Galaxy S5. What is mentioned in this article though, is the fact that the iPhone 6 will include a fingerprint sensor, which means that Apple is pleased with the response from iPhone 5S users to keep this feature in future models. There are a lot of reports that have mentioned two different iPhone 6 models and both models are expected to be largely similar if not the same as one another in terms of form factor. The iPad Air and the iPad Mini offer a pretty good analogy as to what may happen when the iphone 6 comes out. We are still however a long way from the expected fall release frame, so until we begin to see some plausible part leaks, it really is hard to get too enthusiastic about the prospect of two new iPhones just yet.
