According to reports, Apple is set to make the official announcement for their latest smartphone on the 9th of September. If this is true, we are sure to see a lot more leaks and reports surfacing in the next couple of weeks. The latest leak is a new sketch that apparently details a protruding rear-facing camera component. We all know that Apple are renowned for smooth design, so while reports that the iPhone 6's camera would stick out have been incessant, many people have brushed them off. As with any rumor, though, if they stay around for long enough people start to believe them. There is no telling whether this leaked schematic drawing is legitimate or not, and in it, the camera part of the device clearly poking out can be seen. As we have seen with every iOS device that Apple has released to date, the shooter has sat flush, and this leaves a smooth feeling when holding the device, and it looks better too. We personally can't imagine Apple changing this and this new schematic suggests that the 4.7 inch model and the 5.5 inch variant will have a stick out camera lens. Like most of the iPhone 6 related information that is hitting the web right now, this new information hails from Apple.club.tw, and shows a schematic of the 4.7 inch iPhone sporting this protruding camera ring. The 4.7 inch iPhone 6 is expected to be announced along with the larger 5.5 inch model which could be called the iPhone 6L. We still have no official proof of any of this and only time will tell what exactly will be announced by Apple. We've seen images of the iPhone 6's rear shell so many times now since the details of the revised form factor began to emerge, but a new, high-quality image has been leaked that really gets up close to this particular component. We are fairly certain that the iPhone 6's housing will follow a similar design language to that of the iPad Air/iPod touch, we haven't seen such a magnified view of it before. This image comes from Feld & Volk and what is really noticeable is that the area where the volume buttons are going to be is ever-so slightly indented, making it just that little bit easier to press them down. The images from Feld & Volk also let you take a close-up look at the embedded Apple logo that everyone has been talking about over the past couple of weeks. The accompanying report goes on to state that the logo is comprised of some scratch-resistant metallic compound which sounds pretty interesting. According to Re/code's John Paczkowski, the iPhone 6 will be announced at a special event on the 9th of September, and if this is the case, we should see invitations going out shortly. At this launch we should see the 4.7 inch and the 5.5 inch variants of the new iPhone 6 being unveiled, although the larger model is not expected to hit the retail market for several weeks after. Most of the rumors and leaks that we have seen over the past couple of months have all suggested that Apple will be including a larger, more rounded form factor with this new device. While we have seen plenty of iPhone 6, what we haven't yet see is a comparison with the current device and so to offer a sense of perspective, this latest leak and video will show a head-to-head comparison of the old versus what we expect that new to be. This leak comes courtesy of Italian blog Macitynet, and as you will see from the video included in this post, the iPhone 6 is both noticeably thinner and significantly wider than its would-be predecessor. The general consensus remains that Apple will introduce two new iPhone of almost identical design, except one will be larger than the other. A variant with the 4.7 inch display is expected to be released first, with a delayed 5.5 inch edition making its way to the market at a later date while production issues pertaining to a new, thinner battery are addressed. The iPhone's design really hasn't changed much since the iPhone 4 was released in 2010 and even though the increase in size may have forced the alterations we're seeing with the mockups, it is also clear to see that Apple's ethos of uniformity is being revisited. The iPod touch and iPad range both offer this sleek, curved finish, and with the iPhone 6 apparently in line to follow suit, the entire iOS device line-up will appear to be cut from the same cloth. Besides from the physical attributes, the iPhone 6 is expected to pack a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, an Apple A8 processor and impressive camera tech. Recent reports have suggested that Electronic Image Stabilization will offer superior shooting capabilities and with some analysts also highlighting that this device may prompt Android users to jump to iOS en masse thanks to its larger size, we could be on the cusp of another game changer from Apple. That is why we have created this post as a complete run down of everything we know so far about the upcoming iPhone 6. There are still approximately 5 months left to go before its release and any of the information we have received so far could be inaccurate and subject to change. Below is a run down of what know. The features and specs mainly revolve around the size of the display and according to reports Apple is once again preparing two iPhone 6 models for release later this year. Both are thought to be larger than any iPhone we have seen so far and we are expecting a 4.7 inch model and a 5.5 inch mode. It is also rumored that the iPhone 6 will have a bezel free display. We have also heard that this new iPhone will feature a full 1080p display. Rumors also suggest that the power button will be relocated to the edge of the handset alongside the redesigned volume buttons. In case leaks, we have seen that the rear side of the iPhone will take on a iPad Air-esque design whilst the front will boast and edge-to-edge display, allowing the screen to increase in size without leaving the device itself feeling too large. Leaks have also suggested that the battery size will increase. The leaked front panel that we have seen also suggests that the front of the device will be very much like the iPhone 5s, except that it will have a proportionately larger display of 4.7 inches. The camera is also set to receive improvements and according to the most recently leaked information, the rear-facing iPhone 6 camera will be 10 megapixels. The Touch ID fingerprint sensor is also going to see some improvements with better �efficiency� being mentioned in several reports. We have also seen reports that suggest that the iPhone 6 will have sapphire glass display. Analyst Timothy Arcuri reckons that the iPhone 6 will pack Gigabit Wi-Fi standard, which would make hotspot connectivity faster and more efficient. Other features will include iWatch integration, a heart rate sensor and of course iOS 8. We expect the iPhone 6 4.7 inch model to announced in September and it has been rumored that the price will increase by approximately $100. These images show that Apple will depart from the 4 inch Retina display first introduced with the iPhone 5 and that the power button may also change its location. KGI securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested that the power/sleep button could finally be relocated from its regular spot atop the device because the larger display would make it more difficult to reach it. The image also gives us a glimpse at the thinner overall design, and with reports indicating that the iPhone 6 will borrow many of its aesthetics from the iPad Air, you will see it clearly in this image. The iPhone 6 looks set to offer a 4.7 inch display, with a larger model boasting a 5.5 inch panel. It has been suggested though that the larger model will be delayed due to production issues. According to Abhey Lamba, Mizuho Security's analyst, the highly anticipated iPhone 6 could hit our stores as early as July of this year. The beats the normal release date of September. We really don't know much about what the iPhone 6 will bring, but Lamba's sources in the supply chain have led the analyst to believe that a range of screen sizes from 4.7 inches to 5.5 inches could be on the cards. This seems highly unlikely as Apple always seems to stick to its tried and tested approach of offering a one-size-fits-all handset. Besides the question of screen sizes, it is also now suggested that Touch ID will get a boost by being able to interact with more apps as well as making the jump from the iPhone to the iPad this year. According to Street Insider, this analyst is basing his claims on information from the Asian and Japanese supply chains, which can be either very accurate or completely inaccurate so we will have to wait and see. If, as the report suggests, the iPhone 6 really is going to be released earlier than expected, we would expect to see a lot more information leaks coming out in the next couple of weeks and months but we aren't holding our breath on this as Apple very rarely break their release schedule. So far we have seen some leaked photos of what is claimed to be the outer shell of the iPhone 6 and based on those leaks, it is safe to say that we will see an iPhone with a larger display, but then again, this leak's legitimacy can't be traced so as always with all the rumors that appear we really do have to wait and see what Apple is really planning. Unfortunately this article doesn't go into a lot of detail and it only says that Apple is working in an iPhone 6 prototype as an afterthought to a report dominated by talk of the Samsung Galaxy S5. What is mentioned in this article though, is the fact that the iPhone 6 will include a fingerprint sensor, which means that Apple is pleased with the response from iPhone 5S users to keep this feature in future models. There are a lot of reports that have mentioned two different iPhone 6 models and both models are expected to be largely similar if not the same as one another in terms of form factor. The iPad Air and the iPad Mini offer a pretty good analogy as to what may happen when the iphone 6 comes out. We are still however a long way from the expected fall release frame, so until we begin to see some plausible part leaks, it really is hard to get too enthusiastic about the prospect of two new iPhones just yet. Now we are used to hearing rumors about larger displays and the likelihood that we will see at least one handset with a considerably larger display that the iPhone 5s's 4-inch seems even stronger than ever. The Wall Street Journal has jumped on the band wagon suggest that Apple may be planning two new iPhones this year. The suggestion is that one of the devices will have a display in excess of 4.5 inches while the second handset will exceed the 5 inch mark. This idea has already been suggested and it didn't come to fruition. Up until the iPhone 5, Apple has always stuck to their 3.5 inch display and even though they have pushed the boundaries slightly, the current iPhone 5c and 5s seem very small when compared to other smartphones on the markets. If the reports are correct, things look set to change dramatically and while the current line-up sees the iPhone 5s's premium finish contrast the polycarbonate exterior of its counterpart, the report also suggests that the iPhone 5c will be scrapped when the new devices become available. The two new devices are expected to have a higher-end, aluminum treatment as far as the outer shell goes, so while some people may have enjoyed the colorful nature of the iPhone 5c, it would seem that Apple isn't that keen. The rumor is that the iPhone 6 with have a Touch ID sensor with improved efficiency and it is reportedly going into production in the second quarter of this year. The most distinguishing feature of the iPhone 5s is the Touch ID fingerprint sensor. This made it unique and it stands out from all the other smartphone models on the market. According to a recent report from DigiTimes, the TSMC, Apple's supplier for the fingerprint sensors, is not only gearing up to initiate production in the second quarter of this year, but also on a larger scale, in hopes to meet the production needs and demands for the upcoming iPhone 6 that will be released later this year. According to the report, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is not only going to being production, but they are also moving the manufacturing process from an 8-inch fab to a much larger 12-inch fab, which will help increase production efficiency for meeting larger volume demands. TSMC will also be handling the packaging of Touch ID sensors itself instead of outsourcing the process, ensuring that it has more control over the entire process. The report also suggest that the process will be carried out using a 65nm process, which is going to further help improve production capacity and eliminate waste. For the last generation iPhone 5s, TMSC contracted Xintec, China Wafer Level CSP and Advanced Semiconductor Engineering for the shipping and packaging of the sensors. For the next iPhone they are going to do it all themselves and outsource the packaging of Qualcomm's chips externally. From a consumer perspective, this may not be a very big piece of news but it does indicate that not only Apple, but their suppliers are all in favor of putting the customer needs first. The iPhone is one of the most popular pieces of hardware on the market today and it makes sense to put that first and ensure that production volumes can be met.
