The day has finally arrived when the iPhone 5S and 5C have hit the stores. These models are now on sale in 11 countries around the world. The launch of the more expensive flagship iPhone 5s is more significant as it is the first smartphone to have a fingerprint sensor and a 64 bit processor. This new device is also the first iPhone to ever ship in three colors. It was rumored that the iPhone 5s would have a 128GB storage option but this hasn't turned out to be the case. You can by an iPhone 5s with 16GB, 34GB and 64GB of storage. Which one you choose will depend on your usage habits and how many different tasks you rely on your phone to do. We could still see a 128GB model come on stream at a later date.
The iPhone 5S is the first to ship in 3 colors and the new Gold color has been quite a talking point. Accompanying this new champagne-like color is a space gray option which is similar to the black iPhone 5 and there is also the Silver model. The color you choose is a matter of personal choice.
When deciding between an unlocked model or a contract model there are advantages and disadvantages to both. If you sign up for a contract your get your iPhone for a lot cheaper. The problem with this is that most contracts run for 18 months to two years and with a new iPhone coming on stream every year you might not want to do this. The iPhone 5c has also been released although it hasn't been very well received. Pre-orders for iPhone tend to be quite high and they are only available for a day or two. That being said, the iPhone 5c can still be pre-ordered and this is now tens days after the announcement so it doesn't look very good for this model. The iPhone 5c is the cheaper, budget iPhone and it comes in a different shell, has a slightly bumped battery life and one or two other tweaks. If you are looking for a good smartphone that is capable of completing almost any task for general users then the iPhone 5c could be a great choice.
