The Sticky Icky package has just been released and this is a tweak where developers have attempted to make Apple's banner alerts a little bit better.</p> <span class="fullpost"><p>The banners and alerts were created intending to work hand in hand with the Notification Center hub that was also introduced with iOS 5. When a user receives a notification, a temporary banner is displayed at the top of the screen with the intention of notifying the user while not distracting them or drawing focus away from the app that is currently running. When a user installs Sticky Icky which is a new jailbreak tweak the banners and notifications become sticky and they remain stuck to the top of the display. It will remain here until users decide to either tap the banner and invoke the relevant alert action or dismiss the banner from view altogether. The main purpose of this tweak appears to be to bring a more permanent state of visibility to incoming notifications.</p> <p>This package works really well and will help anyone who has suffered from missed alerts in the past. When you install this tweak you also get a dismiss button to the right hand side of the incoming banner alert and if this is tapped on it immediately removes the banner from view. This alerts users to any updates allowing them to enter the App Store to download what they need. Cydia however is still like the old App Store in that users have no idea if there is an update to a tweak or theme unless they go into Cydia.<br /><br />IOS developer Ryan Petrich has taken some steps to rectify this issue with a tweak he is calling CydiaBulletin. This new tweak provides Notification Centre alerts when a new version of an installed tweak is available. This tweak should hopefully offers all the functionality of other alerts such as being available on the lock screen, an audible tone and swiping alert to go straight to Cydia.<br /><br />This tweak is still in its initial stages and there is no estimated time of release as yet but it does sound very promising and as soon as it is made available to the public we will be sure to let you know.</span> </span></span>

That�s right, StatusGoogle is a jailbreak tweak and when you download this it adds a new search bar to the notification center which is iOS 5�s new way of handling all your notifications.<br /><br />Once you install StatusGoogle all you have to do is type in your search and hit return and you will automatically be in mobile safari with your Google search loading automatically. We do hope that Apple will begin to allow third party app store apps to take advantage of the notification center soon but until then if you want to take advantage of it you need to jailbreak your idevice. </span> </span></span>

Apple have yet to confirm that widgets will be available in the App store but we are sure they are aware of the possibilities and we sure to jump on the bandwagon.<br /><br />If the WeeFacebook widget sounds good to you then you will need to have a jailbroken version of Apple�s iOS 5 beta in order to take advantage of it.
